Miles For Paws was the animal welfare charity athletics team of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals from 2009 until 2018. The team was created to increase awareness and raise funds for the Alliance and its work to save the lives of New York City's homeless pets.

Over the course of the team's ten years of activities, athletes with a broad range of experience and athletic interest became "Pack Members." They participated either in races with the group, such as in the New York City Marathon, or chose their own event and participated as an individual representing the Alliance and Miles For Paws.

We're grateful to each and every Pack Member who made a difference in the lives of NYC's homeless animals with every mile, avenue, or block they completed. We also extend a huge thank you to all those generous people who supported our Pack Members with their donations. Their combined efforts, and the thousands of dollars raised, made a tremendous impact towards reducing euthanasia in New York City. By 2015, more than 9 out of 10 animals entering Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) were being saved.

Our thanks to everyone who joined in the race and helped us achieve tremendous success in saving more than 320,000 lives!
