Mark Garrison Salon to Host "Primping for Pups" Styling for Charity Event to Benefit the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals®
New York, NY – Wednesday, February 2, 2011 – Join the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals® for an evening of haute coiffure for people and their dogs when stylist Mark Garrison and Mayor's Alliance spokesperson Stephanie Mattera host a special I Love NYC Pets Month event at Mark's Upper East Side salon at 108 East 60th Street on February 23 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Humans can enjoy styling by Mark Garrison's professional staff, while their four-legged friends undergo their own transformations by award-winning dog stylist Olga Zabelinskaya and her team of celebrity dog stylists. A photographer will be on hand for "after" shots of beautified dogs and humans.
The excitement continues with special appearances by the stars of NYC life's new reality show, Doggie Moms, which follows five women whose lives revolve around their dogs and provides valuable information about City resources for dog owners.
Other highlights of the event include adoptable dogs from Posh Pets Rescue, an Alliance Participating Organization, gourmet snacks for dogs provided by Evermore Pet Food, wine and delicious vegan delights from Candle Café for humans, and a dog boutique featuring clothing designed by Olga Zabelinskaya, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Mayor's Alliance.

About the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals®
The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, Inc., founded in 2002 and powered by Maddie's Fund®, The Pet Rescue Foundation, with support from the ASPCA, is a coalition of more than 150 animal rescue groups and shelters working with Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) to end the killing of healthy and treatable cats and dogs at AC&C shelters. To achieve that goal, the Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, helps its Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) work to their highest potential to increase pet adoptions and spay/neuter rates, with the goal of transforming New York City into a no-kill community by 2015. www.AnimalAllianceNYC.org
