FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Thursday, August 3, 2006 Animal Groups Sponsor Free & Low Cost Spay/Neuter Surgeries August 20: "Spay Day" Who/What: Animal Care & Control of New York City, the ASPCA and the Mayor's Alliance for New York City's Animals are sponsoring free or low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for cats and dogs belonging to area residents on August 20. Free or low-cost services are available to those on public assistance, on a fixed income or living in public housing. Where: St. Mary's Recreation Center 450 St. Ann's Avenue Bronx, NY 10455 When: Sunday, August 20, 2006 Check in begins at 7 a.m. Why: Spaying and neutering not only prevents unwanted births but has many health benefits:
