TAILS' "Family Portraits" Creates Memories, Benefits Homeless Animals
On Sunday, December 12, pet parents and their four-pawed pals celebrated the season while helping NYC's homeless animals at "Family Portraits," a fundraiser-soiree presented by TAILS of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals. TAILS (Toward Animals in Loving Spaces) is a group of like-minded New Yorkers working to raise money for the Alliance's lifesaving programs.
Guests were invited to bring their furry family members for a casual afternoon of fun at ViNO ViNO, a fashionable wine bar in Tribeca. Pets and their people enjoyed tasty nibbles and noshes, while a pet photographer took complimentary "family portraits" of guests and their canine companions.
Animal Haven, an Alliance Participating Organization whose adoption center is located in nearby SoHo, introduced some of their dogs for adoption to guests. Shorty Rossi, star of Animal Planet's Pit Boss and founder of Shorty's Pit Bull Rescue (an organization of pit bull owners, rescuers, and supporters who rehabilitate and place neglected and abused Pit Bulls into loving homes), flew to NYC with his rescued Pit Bull, Hercules, to make a guest appearance at "Family Portraits."
A big holiday "thank you" to our friends at TAILS, Shorty and Hercules, and all those generous supporters who helped make the event a success. A special thanks goes to ViNO ViNO at 211 West Broadway for providing the perfect venue for the event at no charge — now that's the spirit of the season!
