Out of the Cage!

April 2010

Our April issue of Out of the Cage! features news about important happenings — past, present, and future. You'll read about Mayor Bloomberg's April 12 press conference where he thanked the ASPCA for its $1 million grant to the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals — a continuation of the ASPCA's 2005 five-year grant — and announced the appointment of Julie Bank as the new Executive Director of Animal Care & Control of NYC.

Get set for our first multi-group adoption event of 2010, when Adoptapalooza takes Washington Square Park by storm on May 22, and where we hope scores of homeless cats and dogs will find their permanent homes — all against a backdrop of family fun and entertainment.

We hope you'll share our excitement about how two Mayor's Alliance programs that focus on our human resources — volunteers and APOs — are working to maximize the effectiveness of these two vital constituencies.

Our relationship with LX New York, which you'll read about in this issue, has us extremely energized, and we're excited about all the positive possibilities this collaboration is creating for our APOs and the animals in their care.

We hope you'll enjoy this issue. And because we always enjoy hearing from you, please feel free to contact us at enews@AnimalAllianceNYC.org.

Best wishes,

Jane Hoffman

President, Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals
