JFK Cats Gain Wide Media Coverage
Over the past several weeks, the feral cat situation at JFK Airport and the controversy surrounding The Port Authority of New York's plan to exterminate them have received extensive coverage in the media. This coverage, the result of many long hours and hard work on the part of the Mayor's Alliance and numerous individuals and organizations concerned about the cats' safety, appears to have brought a temporary halt to The Port Authority's original plans to remove the cats. We remain hopeful that Port Authority management will consider the plan for a TNR pilot project that was proposed to them on September 5, 2007.
