Out of the Cage!
Summer 2007
We're delighted to present our Summer issue of Out of the Cage! You'll be reading about some very special people in this issue, including Regina Massaro and her Spay Neuter Intervention Project (SNIP) that's working in some of New York City's toughest neighborhoods to reduce the number of births among junkyard dogs and deli cats. And Deborah Chieglis, featured in our Volunteer Spotlight, whose dual volunteer activities in foster care and sewing cage comforters are an inspiration.
You'll also read about some of the training opportunities being presented by the Mayor's Alliance and its participating organizations, as well as a new course on pet first aid being offered by the American Red Cross.
And you'll learn about some very special animals awaiting new homes, thanks to the Picasso Veterinary Fund. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to extend a sincere "thank you" to Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore for their continued support of the Picasso Veterinary Fund through their annual Broadway Barks! celebration; to the ASPCA for their generous financial support of the Mayor's Alliance; and to Maddie's Fund, for their ongoing faith and support of our efforts to transform New York City into a no-kill community.
And we thank you, our readers, for your continued interest in the work being done by the Mayor's Alliance and its 100-plus member shelters and rescue groups. We welcome your comments at info@AnimalAllianceNYC.org.
