Join the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals for Adoptapalooza, our signature pet adoption extravaganzas! These public events feature wonderful cats, dogs, and sometimes rabbits for adoption from dozens of Alliance Participating Organizations. Each Adoptapalooza features additional activities, which might include advice on pet care, training, and grooming; product giveaways; microchipping; dog licensing; pet photographers; dog performances; or other fun activities for the whole family — two- and four-legged alike.

The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals is proud to present Adoptapalooza in partnership with the Petco Foundation!

Adopt a Pet!

Close to 300 dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, and rabbits will be available for adoption from more than 35 Alliance Participating Organizations. Confirmed organizations include All About Spay Neuter, Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC), Animal Haven, The Animal Project, Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF), ASPCA, Best Bullies, Bideawee, Bronx Tails Cat Rescue, Bully Project, Empty Cages Collective, GROWL, Hudson Valley Humane Society, Husky House, Imagine Pet Rescue, Infinite Hope, K9Kastle, KittyKind, Linda's Cat Assistance, Little Wanderers NYC, Long Island Bulldog Rescue, Long Island Greyhound Connection, Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue, Metropolitan Maltese Rescue (MetroMalts), Mr. Bones & Co., NYC Metro Rabbit, The Patricia H. Ladew Foundation, Place for Cats, Posh Pets Rescue, Pound Hounds Res-Q, PupStarz Rescue, Rebound Hounds, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, Rescuzilla, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Second Chance Rescue, Waggytail Rescue, and Zani's Furry Friends.

All animals for adoption have been vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Adoption fees vary by group.

Prepare Your Pets for Emergencies!

Have your dog or cat microchipped by Vetco. The first 50 microchips will be FREE, or only $15 after the first 50.

Purchase a dog license (required by law in NYC) from the NYC Department of Health. Licenses are $8.50, or $34.00 for dogs who have not been spayed/neutered. (Checks, money orders, and credit/debit cards only. No cash accepted.)

Have Fun with Your Whole Family!

Bring your children to the Blue Buffalo Kids' Korner for face painting and temporary tattoos by The Cheeky Chipmunk, animal illustrations by the Society of Illustrators, and more.

Learn tricks and training tips from Petco certified trainers on the Merrick and Castor & Pollux Dog Training Field.

Have free photos taken with your pet by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

Head over to Dylan's Candy Bar to purchase a treat for yourself to benefit the Alliance.

Join us in honoring the life of Bocker the Labradoodle and the work he and Marie Shelto did to promote pet adoption in NYC.

Pick up free pet food samples, other products, and information from pet-related vendors. Confirmed vendors include Blue Buffalo, Castor & Pollux, Lucy Pet Products, Merrick, Nature's Recipe, Nature's Variety, Petco, and Solid Gold.

Bring a Shelter Donation!

Rock & Rawhide will collect your donations of clean towels, blankets, pet toys, and other supplies for shelter animals.
