As we embarked on our second decade of life-saving initiatives, the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals celebrated many achievements in 2013. Our community collaboration of 150 Alliance Participating Organizations (APOs) succeeded in saving eight out of every 10 lives at Animal Care & Control of NYC (AC&C) this year, and more than 250,000 have been saved since 2003. Euthanasia was further reduced in 2013. To read more about our progress, please view our 2013 Progress Report.
Our valued partners and supporters make all of our successes possible by dedicating their time and resources to benefit NYC’s shelter and homeless animals. One such partner — the Alex and Ani Charity by Design team — recently visited the Alliance. We thanked them for providing critical support to all of our programs, from the key initiatives outlined here, to the Alliance’s Lost & Found and Helping Pets and People in Crisis programs, which work to keep animals safe and at home with their owners, where they belong.
Our shared vision of a NYC where all healthy and treatable dogs and cats receive a loving home is in sight. Thank you for your support this year, and for joining us as we continue on our mission to save precious lives in 2014 and beyond.
