On Christmas Day, the Bully Project’s Josh Blye discovered a neighbor waiting on his front stoop with a dog who had been handed to her on the street. After some research, Josh and colleague Jennifer Bristol discovered that this girl hadn’t had a very fair shake at life so far, but she was a sweet dog, so they had to help her. Unsettling medical symptoms, including black stool, a bloody nose, and severe coughing, prompted the BP team to take the sweet dog to BluePearl Veterinary Partners, where she was immediately tested for rat poison.
Thankfully, the test was negative, but she did have a bad upper respiratory infection and upper GI bleeding due to parasites. Josh and Jennifer decided to name her Noelle, since she arrived on Christmas. Noelle remained at the hospital for five days, and went through lots of testing to discover what was causing her pneumonia. The Picasso Veterinary Fund of the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals paid for most of Noelle’s medical care. Then, after beginning her treatment regimen, Josh introduced Noelle to his friend (and potential foster person) Kevin two days before the New Year. Kevin agreed to care for Noelle, and they quickly bonded. Kevin has officially adopted her!
