Loans & Rentals of Traps, Dividers & Cages

Equipment for TNR projects — including traps, trap dividers (isolators), and cages — can be borrowed or rented from trap banks in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. You may borrow equipment from any of these trap banks no matter which borough you are located in. You must be a Certified TNR Caretaker to borrow traps and other equipment. Please give yourself 2–3 weeks to secure equipment, and be sure to book your spay/neuter appointments prior to reserving traps.

All traps available from the sources below are 36 inches long and have a removable rear door. Use only these traps to facilitate caring for cats pre/post surgery. You will also need at least one, and preferably two, dividers or isolators, so be sure to reserve those as well.

Note that you must provide your own trap covers, which should cover the entire trap so that the cat cannot see a potential escape route and become agitated. You can easily make trap covers by cutting a twin-size bed sheet in half.
