Emergency Rescue Information

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) – Emergency Rescue Dispatch

Emergency rescue of sick or injured stray and feral cats in New York City is handled by Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC). ACC is not the ASPCA. The Field Operations Division of ACC responds to calls from the public and government agencies, seven days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Important: If you are witnessing an animal emergency, please call 911 immediately. If you have a non-emergency animal situation that requires an officer to be dispatched, please call 311. There can be a wait time, so please do not hang up.

You can also bring a sick or injured cat to any of the ACC Animal Care Centers between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., seven days a week, except holidays. The Manhattan Animal Care Center is open 24 hours for intake services. There are three ACC Care Centers in New York City:

Manhattan Animal Care Center
24-hour intake
326 East 110th Street (btwn 1st & 2nd Avenues), New York, NY 10029

Brooklyn Animal Care Center
8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. intake
2336 Linden Boulevard (btwn Shepherd Avenue & Essex Street), Brooklyn, NY 11208

Staten Island Animal Care Center

3139 Veterans Road West (btwn Arthur Kill Road & North Bridge Street), Staten Island, NY 10309

If you want to adopt or foster the cat after he/she has been rescued and treated by an ACC veterinarian, please advise the rescue driver at the time of pick-up and get the pick-up report number from the driver, or inform the ACC shelter staff when you deliver the cat to the shelter.
