Adopt-A-Dog: 21st Annual "Puttin' On the Dog" Show and Festival Sunday, September 21, 2008 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, Greenwich, CT During the day, there will be a fun dog show with seventeen classes of entries and celebrity judges. Past show categories have included the Biggest Lap Dog, K-9 Krooners, A Pooch Who Can Smooch, and Clever K-9 Tricks, among others. A new class this year is Homely Hounds. October 2008 General Theological Seminary: Blessing of the Animals Saturday, October 4, 2008 2:00–3:00 p.m. General Theological Seminary, 21st Street (midblock, between 9th and 10th Avenues), Manhattan General Theological Seminary celebrates the life of St. Francis of Assisi, renowned for his love of animals, by offering a "Blessing of the Animals." All are welcome at our service — every animal, every human! The service will take place outdoors on the steps of our Chapel, weather permitting; in case of rain, the service will be moved indoors. Please remember to leash your dogs. Small animals, including fish, reptiles, and pets in travel cases are all welcome. The service will last about 20 minutes. City Critters will be present to provide pets for adoption, and the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC's Animals will be providing low-cost ($25, includes registration) microchipping services.
